OPEN Call FOR ifama YOUNG Board MEMBERS


The IFAMA Young Board is looking for three new members to join our global team of young agri-food professionals. If you want to help shape IFAMA's future, build your leadership skills, and connect with peers around the world, we want to hear from you. 

2 seats — Young Board Members (open to any eligible candidate)
1 Seat — Treasurer (a Young Board member role with added responsibility for the group's finances)


What Every Board Member Does 

  • Attend and take part in monthly Young Board meetings. 
  • Serve on at least one project committee and help coordinate regional involvement as needed. 
  • Help recruit and engage young agri-food professionals into IFAMA membership. 
  • Represent IFAMA and the Young Board at conferences and events. 
  • Complete a performance review and an Affirmation of Commitment twice a year (May and November review periods; commitment due 31 January and 31 July). 


What the Treasurer Also Does 

  • Track and report the Young Board's finances. 
  • Support fundraising efforts alongside the Co-Chairs. 
  • Present a financial update to the Young Board each year. 
  • Serve as a two-year officer term within the three-year Board membership. 


The Commitment 

  • Term: 3 years, structured as three one-year commitment periods, dependent on their performance review at the end of each semester. 
  • Time: monthly meetings, plus regular work on your project committee. 
  • A 6-month probationary period applies at the start of your term. 


Who Can Apply 

  • Aged 21–36 at the time of onboarding. 
  • A registered IFAMA member, or willing to become one before joining. 
  • At least 3 years of experience in the agri-food sector. 
  • Comfortable working with the board in English. 
  • Having previously participated in an IFAMA Conference 
  • For the Treasurer seat: some background in finance, budgeting, or fundraising is a plus, but not required.
