GUIDELINES FOR AIRMEET
IFAMA 2020 Symposium Online uses both Whova and AirMeet to create the full conference experience. Please make sure to use the same e-mail address you used during registration for both Whova and AirMeet, in order to have a seamless conference experience!
All of the Symposium academic sessions will occur through Zoom. But for networking purposes, IFAMA has elected to pair Whova with immersive software called Airmeet in order make the virtual networking experience more meaningful.
Airmeet works on all modern-day browsers and does not require that you to download the software or extensions. But, for the best experience, it’s highly recommended that use the latest version, Chrome-79 or the later; or a second choice is Microsoft Edge.
Airmeet will work on a mobile device, but is currently limited to only consumption of live stream. The interactive features are not accessible. So please use a desktop or laptop with a stable internet connection.
After you are registered for the conference and have downloaded Whova app, you will find the private link provided in the Whova app to access our Airmeet social lounge; we are calling this area our Symposium Café. The first time you visit this link you will enter your name and email.
Once you enter the Café you can join other participants who are already seated at virtual tables, and interact with people at the same table. You also have the ability to move between tables and join other discussions at other tables.
Another feature available in the Café is to join in a 2 minute 1:1 meet up that will pair with other participants who have also selected that option.
Most of the Special Sessions during the conference will be live streamed from the Airmeet platform so prior to the start each of these session you will be prompted to enter Airmeet and the Symposium Café where you can connect with participants before the live stream begins.
If you find yourself frequently getting disconnected try the following:
We look forward to seeing you at the IFAMA2020 Symposium Online!
HOW OTHER FEATURES WORK INSIDE AIRMEET
During the Live Stream sessions participants are taken to a main stage screen to watch the presentation.
Participants can interact, ask questions, and share ideas with speakers via the “Raise Hand” feature. The host controls this interaction. The host receives participants’ requests and hands the mic to participants to join the speaker on the stage. Other participants get to see the video of the participant on stage with the speaker. Participants can leave the stage after the interaction.
What are the other different ways to interact at the event?
