IAMA Events

The globalization of trade has brought many new challenges to the food and agribusiness industry. As a global-reference organization, IAMA strives to provide membership with the most up-to-date information available on issues impacting the global food chain.

Forum

The Forum composes one half of the Annual Conference, which is held in a different country each June. The Forum is an interactive series of presentations and discussions by top executives, policy makers, stakeholders and researchers focused on timely issues impacting the global food system. Diverse program themes and interaction with key food and agribusiness leaders enhances the sharing of information, networking opportunities and identification of future research issues.

Symposium

The Symposium composes the other half of the Annual Conference and utilizes case studies, paper presentations, discussion sessions and poster displays to provide an intellectual foundation for discussions that take place during the Forum. The Symposium is a great opportunity for academic and student members to present their research and receive feedback. It is also an opportunity for networking and gaining insight into the cutting edge of food system research.

Case Conference

The Case Conference is directed at a broad audience of professionals who are interested in developing effective agribusiness cases and using them as learning tools.

Student Case Competition

The Student Case Competition is conducted during the Symposium. It provides student teams from universities around the world an opportunity to showcase their knowledge of current events and their analytical and presentation skills. The competition simulates a rapid turn-around analysis and presentation to senior management of a case study based on a corporate “hot topic” issue.

Issues Roundtable

The Issues Roundtable takes place in conjunction with the IAMA Board of Directors meeting each October/November and is a highly interactive, facilitated discussion on a critical “hot topic” issue. Invitees to the Roundtable include IAMA board members, corporate members, sponsors, counselors, and fellows. Participants will also be able make use of the discussion, networking opportunities and knowledge that is generated during the Roundtable in their businesses and classrooms.

Co-Sponsored Events

IAMA regularly cooperates with other organizations to co-sponsor or jointly host special programs focused on various aspects of the global food system. Proposals for joint activities can be submitted to the IAMA Business Office.
